Africa’s first hypercar maker goes electric

1

Abdesslam Laraki, the visionary behind Africa’s first supercars, is back with a futuristic twist, developing two new electric vehicles that merge retro inspiration with modern technology. The Grace, inspired by the 1929 Bugatti Type 35B, is a lightweight EV homage debuting commercially in 2026 with just 250 units priced at $250,000. Alongside it, Laraki is creating the AEON-1, a high-performance EV capable of 220 mph, featuring a carbon-fiber body, aluminum frame, and seven-speed sequential gearbox, with 500 units planned at $200,000 each. Laraki’s journey from childhood go-karts in Casablanca to award-winning supercars like the Fulgura, Epitome, and Sahara showcases his dedication to redefining African automotive excellence and putting Morocco on the global car design map.
