African airlines posted a 2.8% rise in passenger demand in July 2025, with load factors climbing to 74.9%, according to the IATA’s latest report. The growth was largely fueled by surging traffic between Africa and Asia, as carriers expanded capacity by 2.3% to meet rising demand. This performance stands out globally, as African carriers were among the few to increase their load factor while most other regions saw slight declines. Globally, passenger demand rose 4% year-on-year, with Latin America and Asia-Pacific leading growth, while North America maintained the highest load factor at 88.4%. This positive momentum, particularly in international markets, positions airlines for continued strength in the coming months, setting the stage for a stronger international recovery.
