Rwanda and Qatar have deepened their strategic partnership as the $2 billion Bugesera International Airport project gathers pace. Qatar, which owns 60% of RwandAir and is a major investor in the new airport, views Rwanda as a key regional partner. The visit also featured cultural diplomacy, with President Kagame gifting the Emir traditional Inyambo cows, symbolizing respect and enduring friendship. Officials expect new agreements to follow, reinforcing both countries’ ambitions to shape regional economic and geopolitical dynamics.
