Melinda French Gates backs initiative to boost women’s health worldwide

9

A new $70 million global initiative, the Women’s Health Co-Lab, has been launched to tackle growing gaps in women’s health funding amid global aid cuts. Supported by philanthropists including Melinda French Gates, the fund aims to raise an additional $30 million to address maternal health, sexual and reproductive rights, and gender-based violence — sectors severely impacted by recent US aid reductions. Managed by ICONIQ Impact and Co-Impact, the fund plans to empower 22 organizations, with a significant focus on Africa, where health inequalities are growing rapidly. By pooling resources to support local leaders, the coalition believes it can achieve a collective impact far greater than any single donor could alone, offering a beacon of hope for women and girls.
