Four international defense giants—Germany’s Rheinmetall, China’s Norinco, Italy’s Leonardo, and Spain’s Indra—are competing for the lucrative contract, each offering cutting-edge solutions tailored to Nigeria’s needs. Beyond domestic defense, the project could enhance regional security by providing early warning systems and stabilizing airspace across neighboring West African nations. With persistent threats from insurgencies and the prevalence of outdated equipment, the initiative is a national priority.
