South African wines are gaining global acclaim, with six estates ranking among the world’s top vineyards in 2025. Leading the charge is Klein Constantia, one of the Cape’s oldest estates, which soared 35 places to claim sixth worldwide, earning titles for Best Vineyard in Africa and Highest Climber. CEO Pascal Asin credits the achievement to a blend of tradition, meticulous care, and world-class visitor experiences. Other celebrated estates include Creation, Tokara, La Motte, Delaire Graff, and Hamilton Russell. South Africa’s Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen hailed the recognition as a boost for wine tourism, which contributed thousands of jobs and over $543 million to the country’s GDP in 2022. Industry experts say this spotlight strengthens South Africa’s global wine reputation, driving tourism, exports, and investment.
