Kenya delivered a stunning performance at the 45th Valencia Marathon, with John Korir and Joyciline Jepkosgei claiming top honors and setting personal bests. Korir won the men’s race in 2:02:24, the eighth-fastest time globally in 2025 and just eight seconds shy of the year’s record. Germany’s Amanal Petros set a national record to finish second, while Norway’s Awet Kibrab took third. In the women’s race, Jepkosgei crossed the finish line in 2:14:00, setting the fastest women’s marathon time of the year and the fourth-fastest on record. Reigning champion Peres Jepchirchir placed second, with Belgium’s Chloé Herbiet setting a national record. With a record 36,000 participants, this year’s marathon solidified its reputation as a premier stage for world-class athletic achievement.
