The inaugural Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) has firmly positioned Lagos as a burgeoning global hub for the creative industries, drawing nearly 29,000 participants from over eight countries. Spanning six days, the festival blended conferences, screenings, workshops, and cross-industry collaborations under its theme, “Close the Gap.” Speakers and dignitaries highlighted the push to unite talent, capital, and policy, while young creators found opportunities in hubs, job fairs, and markets. Standout sessions—from a competitive Story Lab to investor-driven Deal Room pitches—showcased rising talent across media and technology. By facilitating crucial connections across film, music, tech, and fashion, EWA provided a vibrant blueprint for accelerating the growth of Africa’s entire creative economy. With conversations on gender equity and fresh fashion talent also taking center stage, EWA left Lagos energized for its return in 2026.
