Dangote Refinery scales up production

9

Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery has formally committed to supplying 1.5 billion liters of petrol per month starting in December 2025. This crucial supply agreement with the West African country’s regulators marks a major step toward ending Nigeria’s long-standing dependence on imported fuel. The refinery plans to increase output to 1.7 billion liters per month by February 2026, promising greater market stability and transparency by publicly sharing production data. This initiative aligns with Aliko Dangote’s vision to halt fuel imports across Africa and transform the continent into a net exporter. Backed by an ambitious expansion plan to become one of the world’s largest refineries, the project underscores a significant shift in Africa’s energy landscape, aiming to secure fuel independence and drive industrial growth.
